Looking to upgrade your style in 2025? Look to these fashion trends for inspiration | Arts & Culture

As we enter 2025, we welcome a new year filled with endless possibilities and trends. If you’ve already been browsing Pinterest for some inspiration in 2025, you may be ahead of the curve.

Every year, Pinterest releases its Pinterest Predicts report, compiling search data from users within the past few years to forecast what will be the hottest fashion trends in the upcoming year. While not everything can be predicted, user data can give early insight into what will become popular in the near future.

It’s important to acknowledge that participating in upcoming fashion trends doesn’t mean you need to buy a new wardrobe. In fact, you may just have to dig deeper in your closet as we may see the return of some familiar fashions. Let this guide serve as some inspiration for your 2025 style.

Moto boho chic

Before you get flashbacks of Coachella 2016, fear not! Seen on the runway at Isabel Marant and Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring 2025 shows, this edgier reiteration is less hippie-inspired and more out for a night on the town on a motorcycle, hence the nickname “moto boho.”

Materials will be everything when it comes to this trend, particularly leather, lace and suede,  juxtaposing elegance and grunge.

While there will still be some familiar traits of boho chic, such as fringes and chunky shoes, moto boho chic will be a refreshing take on the infamous festival style.

Nostalgia

Remember when I said to look towards your closet? Clothes aren’t the only thing you’ll want to look at for fashion inspiration. Consider looking at old toys, as playful fashions inspired by childhood are expected to be all the rage.

From funky patterns to colorful combos, this is all about embracing your inner child, reminiscent of the days of digging through your closet to create a mismatched outfit.

Add a pop of color or incorporate a fun accessory to elevate your look.

Medieval

While we’re at it, let’s turn back time with the emergence of trends inspired by the medieval period.

Dubbed “castlecore,” this fashionable fantasy includes draping silhouettes like flared sleeves and maxi dresses, along with corsets and layers. A darker color palette of navy, burgundy and evergreen can pair  with the textures of velvet, silk and lace.

Accessories will be the big emphasis, with metal hair pieces, jewelry, belts and shoes being the biggest aspects of this trend.

Fisherman

You don’t need to be by the shore to get in on this trend. Blending Stockholm and nautical fashion, this style is inspired by a fishing trip to the lake.

Utilizing cable knit sweaters, jackets, and rain attire such as coats and boots, this is an effortlessly chic and cozy way to stay warm during the winter, with this trend incorporating striped patterns and wool.

I hope you take inspiration and have a fashionable 2025!
