Deptford Town Center in Deptford, N.J., at 1765-75 Deptford Center Rd., is finally getting new stores after sitting vacant for two years.
The shopping center that previously housed four Bed Bath & Beyond-company stores — Bed Bath & Beyond, Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, buybuy Baby and Harmon Face Values — will now be home to seven popular tenants, according to 42Freeway.
Across the street from the Deptford Mall, Deptford Town Center will be the newest location for four stores, a restaurant, a dental office, and a bank.
Shoppers will be able to visit the following businesses starting in winter 2025:
- Aldi
- Nordstrom Rack
- Blinds To Go
- Aspen Dental
- Chase Bank
- First Watch
- Tractor Supply Co.
Blinds To Go, Aldi, and Tractor Supply Co. are expected to open this winter, while the others will open shortly after.
Blinds To Go, Nordstrom Rack, and First Watch are slated to take over the left half of the existing building, totalling about 100,000 square feet, while Aldi and Tractor Supply Co. will replace the left half.
Meanwhile, the buildings for Chase Bank and Aspen Dental are expected to be built “at the front of the parking lot closer to the roadway,” 42Freeway says. However, those plans, which will add another 8,000 square feet to the property, are awaiting approval from the Deptford Planning Board during a hearing this summer.
The former Bed Bath & Beyond, buy buy Baby, Christmas Tree Shops andThat! and Harmon Face Values closed following the bankruptcies of Bed Bath & Beyond and Christmas Tree Shops in 2023.
However, Bed Bath & Beyond has reopened its online store after Overstock.com purchased the brand name in the same year. Also, parent company Beyond Inc. announced in September 2024 that it plans to reopen five small-format shops in 2025 in partnership with home decor store Kirkland’s, according to CRE Daily.
Also, new buybuy Baby and Harmon Face Values owner Dream On Me Inc. set plans in August 2023 to reopen 100-120 stores by 2025. However, the company ultimately decided to close the buybuy Baby stores and sell products exclusively online.
Two Harmon Face Values stores are still open under the name Harmon Discount in West Caldwell, N.J., and New Rochelle, N.Y. A third location will open in Garwood, N.J., soon in the Garwood Mall at 300 South Avenue.
