Labor Day is less than a week away, and school is nearly upon us. Parents are in the throes of back-to-school shopping for their kids. That means it’s time to find deals with Labor Day sales across North Jersey.
Retail sales across the nation grew in July, according to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, highlighting a potential demand by consumers.
“The midsummer boost from back-to-school and college spending along with special deal days offered by retailers clearly helped,” said Jack Kleinhenz, an economist with the National Retail Federation, a trade group.
With Labor Day come deals and discounts, spanning North Jersey malls, online giants such as Amazon, and big-box stores from Target to Walmart.

Some of the deals have already begun, and others occur just on Labor Day itself, which falls on Monday, Sept. 2.
We found some of the best Labor Day deals across North Jersey and beyond.
American Dream, East Rutherford
Stores at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford are offering back-to-school shopping deals that run through Labor Day weekend and into early September.
For example, Vans is offering 30% off a backpack with the purchase of a pair of shoes, while Levi’s is offering 50% off select purchases and Apple is offering gift cards of up to $150.
Rockaway Townsquare and The Shops at Riverside
At Rockaway Townsquare through Sept. 4, Michael Kors is offering 20% off select styles.
Pandora is offering free bracelets with select purchases of up to $290, at both Rockaway Townsquare and The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack.
The Mall at Short Hills, Essex County
Kate Spade is offering up to 40% off select purchases through Sept. 2. Wolford is offering up to 10% on savings through Sept. 2, Tempur-Pedic is offering up to $700 off on select mattresses through Sept. 10, and Lovesac is offering 30% off Sac Bundles through Sept. 22.

Amazon
E-commerce giant Amazon is offering hundreds of deals through Labor Day weekend.
Advanced earbuds like the Apple Airpods Pro are $59.01 off, the Winix 5500-2 Air Purifier is $117 off, Beats headphones are almost $81 off, Shark vacuums are $40 off, and the Zojirushi rice cooker is $33 off.
Ashley Store
The chain is offering up to $1,200 off on select mattresses.
Best Buy
Shoppers can save up to 60% on a variety of tech, including TVs, touchscreen laptops, smartwatches, refrigerators and security systems.
Home Depot
Discounts are available of up to 65% off tools and up to 40% off bathroom vanities.
lululemon
The retailer lululemon is offering up to 60% off women’s and men’s wear in its We Made Too Much section.
Macy’s
Macy’s is offering up to 25% off on products like mattresses and furniture, makeup and clothing.
Mattress Firm
Save up to $700 on a king or queen bed.
Mercedes-Benz of Paramus
Mercedes-Benz of Paramus is offering 3.99% APR financing for up to 36 months on the new 2024 C 300 Sedan and 2024 C 300 4MATIC Sedans.
Nordstrom
Nordstrom is offering up to 60% off men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, home goods including bath, bedding, décor, luggage and kitchenware, and designer accessories.
Raymour & Flanigan
the chain is offering up to 30% off home furniture including sofas, mattresses, dining room sets, living room sets and outdoor furniture.
Samsung
If you trade in your current gadget, you can buy a Galaxy Z Fold6 at up to $1,200 off, a Galaxy Z Flip6 at up to $650 off, a Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 at up to $600 off and the Galaxy Buds3 Pro at up to $100 off.
Target
Target is offering deals such as $30 off a Keurig K-mini, up to 40% off women’s clothing and up to half off kids’ toys.
Walmart
Like Amazon, the world’s largest big-box retailer is offering discounts of up to 65% on tech, home goods, kitchen appliances, seasonal items and more.
You can save $50 on a 12-piece Drew Barrymore cookware set, $50 on an air mattress, $1,113 on a 75-inch Samsung Frame TV, $80.11 on a Gooloo car jump-starter, $73 on an Arctic King mini-fridge and $52 on a 5-by 7-foot Kueth rug.
Wayfair
Deals of up to 80% off are available on furniture and other home goods.
